WHY IS PHOTOGRAPHY IMPORTANT?

Photography is a very important part of society. Pictures can capture a memory or help show a moment in history. Photos can help capture history because they can show the emotion in people or events during the time of the photo. They can show the true moment of what happened. However they can still be changed or manipulated, for example, photos can now be edited and changed completely. But more importantly, photos only capture a frame of a second and without context can be changed. Without background information, we can lie about what's going on or how we interpret it. Not all photography is used to capture emotions or history. Some photographs can be shown as true art. A lot of pictures are used to show a beautiful building, person, object, or a unique way to look at life. Photography can be used for science and research to help understand how something works. If you use a high shutter speed and capture a fast-moving object you can see how it works or see it in a slower time.
